Two men were gunned down in Zamboanga City on the last day of 2015.

Eric Candido y Sorote, 43, married, of Asinan, Kasanyangan was shot and killed around 10:45 a.m., at Vidad Compound, Purok 8, Barigon, Tugbungan.

Candido sustained a bullet wound on the lower left cheek.

Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO)   recovered a spent shell of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Police were still gathering information as to the identities of the killers.

Edwin Pasamata was shot to death around 9:30 p.m. at the Camino Nuevo interior.

Pasamata sustained multiple bullet wounds in the body and was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

It was learned that Pasamata met with unidentified persons who shot him at a dimly lit spot.

Police recovered four spent shells and two slugs of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Meanwhile, Christian Alejabo y Jalao, of Sitio Catumbal, Cabaluay was shot and wounded by Samuel Manuel of Lapakan, at dawn last Friday.

Alejabo  was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Police said that Manuel was arrested during a follow-up operation and was detained at the Sangali Police Station.—Dan Toribio
