Land Transportation Office-9 Director Aminola P. Abaton said on Wednesday that motorvehicle drivers can use the temporary driver license or receipt issued by his office as their driver license in the absence of a license card.

Abaton appealed to LTO clients for their understanding  and consideration because the non availability of license card is a nationwide problem.

He said LTO has a new Assistant Secretary designated by the Department of Transportation and Communication in the person of Atty. Roberto Cabrera.

Abaton explained that Cabrera is currently looking into the problems LTO is facing like the replacement of  plate number from old to  the new vehicle, supplies of license cards and issuance of current stickers for motorvehicles whose owners were able to pay the stickers for 2015 but were not issued by the office.

Abaton revealed that Cabrera is now studying the legality on how to offset the payment from 2015 to 2016.

“We are in full support of ASSEC. Cabrera’s plans and  programs. We  are expecting  that the unresolved issues will be tackled soon,” Abaton said.

Meanwhile, Driver License Renewal Center OIC Hafsa Taha- Aspi  based at Yubengco Mall in Putik reported to Director  Abaton that her revenue collection from January to December for year 2015 breached P5,526,805.96. — Allen Abastillas
