A resident of Salaan was found dead near his residence while a resident of Tetuan was shot dead in Mampang last Friday afternoon.

Culianan Police Station chief Sr. Insp. Elmer Solon disclosed that Salaan barangay kagawad Nemecio del Rosario reported around 11:45 a.m. that Romeo Gaspar Arcillas was discovered dead and his body was already in advanced state of decomposition.

Solon said the barangay official went to a nearby spring to fetch water when he saw Arcillas lying in supine position.

Police learned that Arcillas was last seen around 8:30 p.m. January 6 at the house of his brother Hipolito Arcillas where he was drinking.

Investigators theorizedf that while Romeo was on his way home unidentified men blocked his path and mauled him to death.

Meanwhile around 3:30 p.m. Rafael Guerra y Cruz, Jr., was shot to death at Gagaracruz Drive, Mampang.

Guerra sustained multiple bullet wounds in the body and died on the spot.
