A new building of the PNP Crime Laboratory is now under construction  at Camp Gen. Eduardo Batalla, RT Lim Boulevard.
Police Regional Office-9 Director Chief Supt. Elpidio Z. De Asis Jr. disclosed that the construction of the new three-storey building was made possible from funds provided by the United States’ Department of Justice.

The US government also provided  complete equipment for crime detection on DNA test and Scene of the Crime Operations  (SOCO) equipment.

De Asis said that if the construction is completed, he will invite officials from the US Embassy in Manila and the US Department of Justice to grace its blessing and inauguration.

De Asis expressed gratitude to the US government for donating a complete bomb detection equipment with safety gears and suits as well as a Ford Trekker pickup truck last year.

He said the equipment is very  essential in crime detection and similar police works. —  Allen Abastillas
