Men of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company intercepted last Sunday afternoon a truck carrying suspected smuggled cigarettes along RT Lim Boulevard.

Police operatives under Supt. Ariston Limus were conducting mobile patrol around 2 p.m. when they spotted a KIA Bongo dropside truck driven by Basik Salasain Subbo loaded with several boxes of Fort cigarettes.

Policemen asked for pertinent documents of the cargo but the driver could not produce any.

At this point, police stopped the truck and brought it to the police office for further investigation.

After the proper documentation, the truck along with the boxes of cigarettes were turned over to the Bureau of Customs for proper disposition. – Dan Toribio Jr.
