The city government will host a “Summit for Target Hardening on Bombing Incidents” involving the transport sector on January 26-28,2016 at Centro Latino Hall, Paseo del Mar.

Police Regional Office-9 Deputy Director for Operations Sr. Supt. Debold Sinas said the summit is part of the working efforts of PRO-9 Director Chief Supt. Miguel C. Antonio, Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco- Salazar and Dir. Jesus Leonardo M. Auxillo of the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency 9.

Sinas said the objectives of the summit are: To encourage active community participation in the fight against terrorism; to establish policies, procedures and protocols for the transport sector in the prevention and solution of bombing incidents and other major crime incidents and to ensure the safety of  communities and commuters/ travellers in Zamboanga Peninsula.

Among the topics and lecturers  during the summit are: Threat of terrorism in Zamboanga Peninsula with US represetatives as lecturers; bombing incidents by Sr. Supt. Angelito Casimiro; awareness of the community to fight terrorism by Sonny Jalani; incident management guide for the transport sector by Dr. Jesus Samson; drug-free workplace by Dir. Joseph Ladip; modus operandi on highway robbery, hijacking and carnapping/motornapping by Highway Patrol Group 9 Regional Chief Sr. Supt. Joel R. Dimaano and Improvised Explosive Devised recognition and safety awareness by PCI Ryean Lloyd S. Bato. Frequently violated policies/ directives of LTO by motorists by Dir. Aminola P.
