BJMP cites Celso’s constant support to Zambo city jail PDF Print E-mail

Mayor Celso Lobregat was one of the local government executives and agencies conferred with a special citation during the 20th anniversary celebration of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Manila with Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo as guest of honor.

Lobregat was cited specifically for providing financial and logistical assistance to the Zamboanga City Male and Female dormitory amounting to P1million and the donation of one unit generator amounting to P700 thousand.

Sec. Robredo together with BJMP Chief J/Director Rosendo Dial personally handed over the beautifully designed plaque to Mayor Lobregat during ceremonies held at the PNP Multi-Purpose Hall in Camp Crame, Quezon City, Saturday (July 2).

Mayor Lobregat’s administration, since fixing the budget in 2007 has been ever-aggressive in its assistance and support to the police, military and other law enforcement units including the BJMP.

In previous years, the BJMP also recognized the efforts of the Lobregat administration in constructing detention cells and water tank, the grant of allowances to jail personnel and other assistance.

Just this year, the city unveiled two buildings—one for males and the other for females—for children in conflict with the law (CICL) in Culianan.

Mayor Lobregat has vowed to continuously support and assist the needs of the law enforcement agencies specifically the BJMP for as long as he is mayor of the city.

Other special awardees during the BJMP’s 20th anniversary were Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Maranon Jr.; Medelin, Cebu Mayor Ricardo Ramirez; Pangasinan 5th district board member Danilo Uy; Urdaneta City, Pangasinan Mayor Amadeo Gregorio Perez IV; Laoag City Mayor (Ilocos Norte) Michael Farinas; Dipolog City Mayor Evelyn Uy; Valencia City Mayor (Bukidnon) Leandro Jose Catarata; the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (FFCCCI)/ Philippine Furniture Manufacturers and Dealers Association; Valenzuela City Jail Assistant Paralegal Officer JO2 Florante Goyena, Jr.; Chief, ICTS, BJMP-NHQ J/SInsp.
