Senator Bong-Bong Marcos arrived in Zamboanga yesterday January 24, to attend a series of activities, one of which is the courtesy call on Congressman Celso Lobregat and some key officials of the city.

The courtesy call was at Lobregat’s residence around 1:30 pm. Aside from reminiscing old times, Senator Marcos and Congressman Lobregat discussed at length the BBL-BLBAR and its status in both houses.

It is to be recalled that Congressman Lobregat started giving his Turno en Contra on the BLBAR House Bill 5811 last January 19 in the halls of Congress. Congressman Lobregat gave a video-file and a hard copy of his speech. Senator Bong-Bong thanked Congressman Celso for the materials.

Senator Bong-Bong Marcos is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Government which is the lead Committee in the Senate that is deliberating on the BBL.

Also present in the courtesy call were Councilors Myra Paz Valderosa-Abubakar, BG Guingona, Mike Alavar, VP Elago, Percival Ramos and Ismael Musa. Jomar Lobregat and Haj Sandag were also present.

Joining Senator Bong-Bong were his wife Liza Araneta who brought along relatives from Zamboanga City. Among the Senator’s activities in Zamboanga were Araneta Family gathering, Press Conference and station-hopping in some of the radio and television stations in Zamboanga City.

Senator Marcos was scheduled to fly back to Manila yesterday evening. (Lea LM)
