Col. Juvymax R. Uy is now the new commander of Task Force Zamboanga of the 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division, Philippine Army, based at Camp Enrile in Barangay Malagutay, west of this city.

A member of the Philippine Military Academy “Makatao” Class of 1989, Col. Uy replaced Col. Nixon M. Fortes, who has been designated deputy breigade commander of the 102nd Infantry Brigade that has operational jurisdiction over the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Sur.

Uy assumed the command of TF Zamboanga during the fitting turnover ceremony Friday (Jan 22) presided over by Maj. Gen. Gerardo F. Barrientos Jr., commander of the Army’s 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division, and the concurrent commander of the Joint Task Force Zamboanga-Basilan-Sulu-Tawi-Tawi (ZamBaSulTa).

He is the 16th Army official to assume the TF Zamboanga Command.

Prior to his present post, Col. Uy has held various positions at the headquarters of the Philippine Army, Armed Forces of the Philippines in Metro Manila.— Vic Larato
