Five young men, suspected as behind several street holdups and robberies, were arrested after they reportedly victimized a pedestrian along Sevilla St. last Sunday night.

One of the five suspects who were arrested right after the incident was identified as a certain Elbert, 18, of Barangay Putik, this city.
During investigation, Elbert identified his four other companions. They were nabbed during follow-up operations in different locations.

A police report disclosed that a pedestrian was walking along Sevilla St. around 10 p.m. when a group of young men appeared and punched him. One of the attackers grabbed his cellular phone, then all of them fled.

The victim reported the incident to policemen of the Public Safety Companion who were conducting mobile patrol. Acting on the report, policemen along with the victim proceeded to Sevilla St. and spotted Elbert, who was positively identified by the victim. He was collared by the police.

Elbert was taken to the City Police Office, where he named his four companions. What followed was their arrest. — Dan Toribio Jr.
