Basilan’s lone House Representative Jim Hataman Saliman on Thursday said Lamitan City is on its way to full development with infrastructure projects and other programs to make the city prosperous are in place.

“Lamitan has it from infrastructure to agriculture, education, livelihood for the people and health benefits program, tourism, energy, protection of the marine environment  and other projects are in place and superb under the administration and leadership of Mayor Rose Furigay and Vice Mayor Roderick H. Furigay.

Saliman issued the statement after the delivery of the message of Mayor Rose Furigay and Vice Mayor Roderick Furigay during the State-of the-City Report that coincided with the opening of the regular session of the City Council.

“Maganda ang kanilang mga ginagawa.. nakalatag na lahat parang conglomerate. Maganda ang kanilang management at establishment sa mga projects at  sa kanilang mga programa para sa lahat. Sa mga development at pagka well managed sa projects kailangan palakasin talaga ang security para sa peace and order. And I believe more investors to come in the city, ” Saliman said

He said the national government,  local government units, all stakeholders for peace and progress, the police and military should work together and stay united  for the sustainability of peace and order.

“Ang nangugulo sa Lamitan ay mga taga-labas naman”, Saliman said.

Mayor Rose  Furigay thanked Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Gov. Mujiv Hataman for pouring in to the city a whopping P1.058 billion worth of projects.

Furigay likewise thanked Rep. Saliman for putting up so many projects for the people mostly for the farmers like 24 units of mini-rice milling machines, equipment for agriculture, water pumps, cassava grater, hand tractor, kuliglig and many others.

She said that the projects provided by Gov. Hataman and Rep. Saliman went to the people and the city as a whole.

“It will not only benefit the people of the city but most of all other people from other places in the province most especially in health with the construction of the infirmary hospital,” the mayor said.

Under the teamwork of the Furigay couple,  Lamitan  has been awarded by the Department of Interior and Local Government a  Seal of Good Governance and Seal of Good House Keeping and Prime Human Resource Level II Accreditation.
