The city’s two House Representatives, Celso L. Lobregat of District 1 and Lilia M. Nuño of District 2 and Vice Mayor Cesar Ituralde graced on Saturday the opening ceremony of  the newly completed Palacio del Sur Convention Center along  Gov. Camins Road

The new convention center, owned by the Marcian Group of Companies, was blessed before a Holy Mass co-officiated by Fr. Andy Barcelo and Fr. Max Rodriguez.

The convention cener has five grand ballrooms. On the first floor are the grand ballrooms of Valencia, Cordoba, Ibiza and on the second level the Madrid 1 and  II Grand Ballroom  with a maximum capacity of 2,500 persons.

Jun Cruz,  Hotel and Restaurant Operations Officer, saidthe front façade of the Convention Center has Million Lights fountain executed by Metro Stonerich Construction Company.

The center has a high lobby ceiling. The basement parking area can accommodate 100 cars and outside the building another parking lot for 50 cars. The center is designed with Spanish and Moroccan accents. The convention center serves Western, Asian and European cuisines.

The center is also the first solar-powered  integrated venue in the city. It is a walking distance to and from the airport with an approximate distance of 200 meters.

Cruz said that Palacio del Sur’s hotel rooms are expected to be available by August.
