Mayor Beng Climaco together with Supt. Luisito Magnaye, officer-in-charge of the Zamboanga City Police Office, unveiled yesterday the eastern police community precinct at the barangay hall of Sta. Catalina.

Climaco said the city government cannot afford to create the eastern police station due to huge budgetary and logistical requirements, thus a precinct was created in its stead.

Nevertheless, she assured that the precinct and its personnel will have the support of the city government just as the entire police force gets from the city.

She said the city had purchased three vehicles and these will be distributed to the police stations in Vitali, Curuan and Sangali, and that ammunitions are also arriving soon.

“We commend and appreciate the efforts of our police force for ensuring the safety and security of Zamboanga and its people. That is why we extend all the support we can muster for the police and the military,” the chief executive said.

Also present during the unveiling program were Supt. Diomarie Albarico, commander of Police Station 11 at the ZCPO, and the barangay officials of Sta. Catalina headed by Jimmy Villaflores.
