Zamboanguenos will pay tribute today, February 9 to the City’s first and only senator, Roseller T. Lim in simple yet fitting ceremonies highlighting not only his legacy but also marking his 101st birth anniversary.

Dubbed as Dia de Roseller T. Lim, the activity will kick off with a commemorative mass at 4pm at the Carmelite Monastery Chapel to be followed by a program at 5pm at the Sen. R.T. Lim monument at Normal Road in Baliwasan.

Mayor Beng Climaco and the immediate relatives of the late senator will spearhead the activities.

The awarding of the Five Outstanding Zamboangueño Youth Leaders (FOZYL) to be held at Astoria Celebrity Hall at 7pm will cap the commemoration. FOZYL is a collaborative effort of the JCI Zamboanga and the local government and confers awards to 5 deserving young Zamboangueños and community leaders who best exhibit the traits of leadership, excellence, civic responsibility and community service as exemplified by the late senator.

To be recognized are Arnold Ferolino, Kenneth Al-John Abas, Arthur Joshua Rodriguez, Nafieza Mohammad, and Raemond Angelo Karagdag as five of the most outstanding young leaders in the City.
