Men of the Divisoria Police Station led by Chief Insp. Arlan Delumpines were on hot pursuit operation against a holdupper who tried to rob a bakeshop along the highway in Guiwan before noon Tuesday.

Delumpines said the holdup took place at the Lettylees bakeshop around 11:30 a.m.

Initial investigation showed that the holdupper entered the store, pretending as a customer.

But when he was inside the shop, the man told the store attendant Marilyn Esparagoza that he needed P3,000 and simultaneously showed his hand gun. He ordered Esparagoza to remove her jewelry and grabbed it. Then he pocketed the victim’s silver ring, necklace and bracelet but failed to get money from the shop because behavior caught the attention of the owner.

The suspect left the place through the backdoor of the bakeshop.

Meanwhile, Aizel Tuble, 19, of San Roque, an employee of a micro-finance outfit was held up along Don Toribio Street, Tetuan around 9:30 a.m. Monday,.

Police said that Tuble went to their branch office to collect company money, but while she was standing in front of the office, a man with a gun appeared and announced a holdup.
