Mayor Beng Climaco has charged Indigenous Peoples representative in the City Council Ismael Musa of besmirching the sanctity of his position when he joined a political party, the Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino (LDP) under Rep. Celso Lobregat of District 1.

Climaco stressed during a press briefing Monday  that Musa’s position as representative of the IP in the City Council “is very sacred that only in our administration was given the dignity.

“He, as a person appointed by the IP community, must be answerable to the sacredness of the IP representation in the Sangguniang Panlungsod,” Climaco said of Councilor Musa.

“Why?” she asked. “He entered into a political position in a political party. He must answer for that,” the chief executive said, as he further questioned Musa enjoying the privileges of being a member of a political party like the LDP, thus besmirching, destroying the IP’s image as an apolitical group.— Vic Larato
