The world renowned Loboc Youth Choir holds a benefit concert for a cause in Zamboanga City February 19-20.

Matinee show was held Friday, Feb. 19 from 3-5pm at the City Coliseum in Tetuan while the Gala show will be held Saturday, Feb. 20 at the Palacio del Sur, Marcian Garden Hotel.

In a courtesy call in City Hall Friday morning, the youth choir awed Mayor Climaco and City Hall employees with its melodious rendition of the song “Chabacano”.

The proceeds of the concert will be used for the improvement of the facilities of the Immaculate Conception Archdiocesan School (ICAS)-Tetuan under Fr. Filmore Calibo, in keeping with the requirements of the K-12 program of the Department of Education (DEPED).

The Loboc Youth Choir comes from the “Music Town” of Loboc in the island province of Bohol.

The Choir was founded in 1980 and has made a name in international choral competitions and has performed for various dignitaries. — Sheila Covarrubias
