Owners of boats below 3 tons urged to register with LGU PDF Print E-mail

The PNP’s Regional Maritime Unit-9 urges boat owners to register their boats with tonnage below three tons in the area or local government where they are residing.

Supt. Salbino Piad. chief, RMU-9, disclosed on Saturday that his men recently assisted in the mass registration of boats below three tonnage in Barangay Labuan, Zamboanga City.

“ My troopers always assist local government units in the region in mass and continuing registration of boats below three tonnage,” Piad said.

He said his men also continuously conduct seaborne patrol in the region’s coastal areas to monitor if there are boats below three tonnage that are not registered with the LGU’s

“They  should register it now so that it will not hampertheir livelihood especially for fishing,” Piad said.

He warned that if the time frame given will end, his men will seize their units if it is not yet register.
