No backpacks, bullcaps at Paseo on ‘Dia’ PDF Print E-mail

To ensure order and security during the celebration of Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga, wearing of bullcaps and carrying of backpacks at Paseo del Mar will not be allowed.

Likewise, the flying of drones will be strictly prohibited in areas where the grand civic military parade and the main program will be held.

These are based on Executive Order BC-163-216 issued by Mayor Beng Climaco on February 22 ordering the temporary traffic rerouting and the transfer of PUJ terminals in the city of Zamboanga on the occasion of the 79th Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga on Feb. 26, 2016.

The EO takes effect from 2pm to 6pm on Friday, Feb. 26 during the conduct of hte grand civic military parade that will start at 3pm from Ledesma St. to Paseo del Mar and the main program that will follow also at the Paseo del Mar with former Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas as guest of honor and speaker.

The EO provisions are based on the recommendations of City Police OIC Director PSup. Luisito Magnaye and favourable endorsed and recommended approval by OIC City Administrator Dr. Elmeir Apolinario.

The executive order also enumerates the different intersections/streets where traffic will be temporarily rerouted and PUJ terminals will be temporarily transferred.

The mayor’s executive order also strictly prohibits the flying of drones in the area during the conduct of the activity as well as no wearing of bullcaps and carrying of backpacks at Paseo del Mar and those who insist shall be barred entry. — Sheila Covarrubias
