Lamitan City Mayor Rose U. Furigay said on Tuesday that she will conduct weeklong activities in March to give recognition to people, business organizations, trade  and commerce sectors, agricultural and fishermen organizations, private and public officials, academe, civic society and others who made contributions for the progress and development of the city.

Furigay said she has thoroughly studied plans for their recognition.

“They should be given recognition in their efforts and dedication and contribution to make Lamitan City a better place to live in. Their contributions for the progress and development of the city is very appreciative. Without the support of all the stakeholders of the city, the city can not move forward,” Furigay declared.

The series of activities include the gathering of families and old folks of the city, the gathering of the descendants of the founder of the city, fun run, cultural show presentation remisnicing the life of the city from the old municipality to its present status as a component city. — Allen Abastillas
