A 56-year-old woman landed in the hospital after she drank a bottle of soda drink allegedly containing unknown chemical Thursday night.

Sr. Insp. Elmer Solon, Culianan Police Station commander, identified the victim as Lovella Hipolito y Quebral, a widow of Sitio Buenakapok, Lanzones.

Hipolito experienced severe stomach pain, body numbness and vomiting, before she was rushed to the hospital.

Solon said that Hipolito bought a bottle of Pepsi Cola from a store around 7 p.m. and when she was about to finish the content of the bottle, she noticed unknown black substance at the bottom. It was followed by stomach pain, vomiting and body numbness.

The bottle with the residue of an unknown chemical was brought to the Culianan Police Station and was immediately forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for proper examination.
