The Lamitan City Port is currently undergoing expansion work which include the construction of two RORO ramps.

Lamitan City Port Authority Manager Samboy Cervantes said the port expansion is 60 meters in length. The project is an initiative of Mayor Rose U. Furigay and Vice Mayor Roderick H. Furigay with a budget of P120 million that was approved by Regional Governor Mujiv Hataman of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

The project started last December 2015. It is expected to be  completed by in one year. Lamitan City port is under the Regional Port Management Authority.

Cervantes said the construction of the Lamitan City port terminal  building was funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency. It has a 150 setting capacities with office and comfort rooms for boat passengers. — Allen Abastillas
