Operatives of the Highway Patrol Group 9 Zamboanga del Norte unit have recovered a carnapped motorvehicle at the port of Pulauan in Dapitan City.

HPG-9 Operation Officer Sr. Insp. Mervin Claret said that while the HPG-9 composite  team was conducting an anti-carnapping operation at the port.  Sr. Insp. Inocencio P. Jamolod together with Insp. Ariel P. Yogyog,  SPO4 Elmer  S. Jaugin and PO1 Joerby F. Trumata of Dapitan City Police Office spotted and flagged down a metallic Mitsubishi Adventure with plate number XMV 683 while it was moving out of a roro vessel docked at the port after arriving from the port of Dumaguete.

Initial violation of the driver , a certain J.Q. Quitoy, was not wearing the seatbelt. When the vehicle record was checked with the HPG Vehicle Information Management System, it was found out that the van was included  in the alarm and stolen status under alarm number 2011-0310.

HPG-9 Chief Sr. Supt. Joel R. Dimaano directed Jamolod to conduct further investigation regarding the record status of the vehicle and coordinate with Crime Laboratory 9 Zamboanga del Norte Office  for the macro-etching examination. — Allen Abastillas
