Nuevo Zamboanga   Movement founder Monsi Cris dela Cruz was warmly welcomed by two  barangays in the  West Coast  last   February  25,  2016.

Monsi   addressed  around 150  residents of Barangay  Tulungatung in  a very simple yet fruitful  gathering.  Residents  cheered  and took  turns in taking   pictures with the  servant leader as they  listened intently to what he had  to say.

Barangay Chairman Jojo  del  Rosario together  with Kagawads Macrohon and  Grecia  were  all present to  give  support.

During the  said  gathering,  residents cheered  as   they took  turns  taking pictures  with the  servant leader.

On the same night,  Monsi graced the Barangay La Paz  Fonda  which  showcased the  talents of the residents through singing and  dancing.  Monsi was welcomed by   Chairman  Ancelita Dalingay and other barangay  officials  including  Kagawad Ronald  D. Lilio who  was the emcee  for the night. Barangay  Chairman  El Omaga  was  also  around to  give   some words of inspiration to  the  crowd.

In both  occasions  Monsi expressed his  desire  to give the  youth of the  city  hope by  being  able to  look forward to a brighter  future  ensuring that they  would be  given  the  opportunity to go to school and  help  their families  improve their lives.

“The opportunity to see the  youth  from poor families, who, despite of  having to go through  hard times make it  successful  is something that I  truly hope for.  This inspired me to build  two schools  which I named   Nuevo Zamboanga College , “Monsi said.   The servant leader is  vying  for  a congressional seat  in the  1st  district of Zamboanga  come May 2016.
