A total of 42 workers were hired on the spot during the recently job fair organized by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) under the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

The fair interviewed 468 applicants wherein 237 were qualified subject to corresponding examination and final review.

Held last February 24 at the Red Cross Training Center in Pettit Barracks, the job fair was participated by 25 recruitment agencies that offered jobs for local placement as well as abroad.

The number of workers hired on the spot represents a 17% accomplishment.

The job fair offered 1,009 jobs for local placement and 2,743 for overseas placement.

The frequent conduct of job fairs by the local PESO is in line with Mayor Beng Climaco’s thrust on Security, Health and Education (SHE) program with the ultimate objective of ensuring better future for the young generation.

The PESO has conducted numerous job fairs that resulted to the hiring of thousands of residents – both skilled and unskilled, either locally or abroad.  — Sheila Covarrubias
