PLDT man in hospital after near electrocution PDF Print E-mail

A PLDT maintenance crew landed in the hospital in critical condition after he accidentally touched a live wire while working near the highway in Mercedes yesterday morning.

In another incident, a female DSWD employee fell from a running habal-habal motorcycle in Culianan last Monday morning.

Sr. Insp. Elmer Solon, Culianan Police Station chief, identified the victim of electrocution as Arnel Nazareno y Lambojon, 26, married, a contractual employee of PLDT and a resident of Boalan.

Initial investigation showed that Nazareno and some co-workers were performing on preventive maintenance work on a PLDT line at past 8 a.m. when he accidentally touched a live wire.

Nazareno sustained secnd degree burn and was taken to the Mindanao Central Sanitarium for treatment.

Meanwhile, Myranul Baki, 32, of the DSWD was riding a habal-habal driven by Robert Dimasangal, 49, coming from Sangali and heading for the city proper when she accidentally fell at a blind curve near the entrance to Guisao.

Baki sustained injuries in the head and body. She was taken to the hospital. – Dan Toribio Jr.
