It  is all systems go for the 2016 Youth Entrepreneurship Symposium (YES).

The Department of Trade and Industry - Zamboanga City Office (DTI-ZCO) will spearhead the conduct of the said Symposium on March 16, 2016 at Royce Convention Hall, Grand Astoria Hotel, this city. This will be participated by at least 1,000 graduating college students in the city.

“YES aims to encourage entrepreneurial mindset amongst the Zamboangueño youth and to promote savings consciousness and financial competency through basic know-how in investing in financial instruments and through sound financial management,” said DTI-ZCO Provincial Director Engr. Rolando G. Acuña highlighting the importance of financial literacy. It also seeks to promote the sustained development of young Filipinos whose aptitude and skill in the field of finance and entrepreneurship shall be encouraged and honed through education and specialized training programs

The Symposium will be handled by Mr. Victor R. Madlangbayan from the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship. He will discuss and make presentations on topics ranging from entrepreneurial mindset to financial literacy. Successful local entrepreneurs will likewise give their testimonies and share their experiences in starting and developing their business.

Deserving students will have the opportunity to attend a follow-up workshop dubbed “Youth Entrepreneurship Symposium Plus” (YES Plus) which is tentatively scheduled this May 2016.
