In celebration of family day, the Zamboanga City High School-main in Tetuan on Saturday received an infrastructure project initiated by the City Government in line with its priority thrust on education.

Mayor Beng Climaco led City Government officials in turning over the P1 million school stage to the school administration led by OIC Principal Jesus Solon and the Parent-Teacher Association officials Saturday, March 12.

The covered court where the stage is located was also constructed and funded by the local government along with numerous school buildings. The stage was undertaken by Adelcia Construction for a period of two months.

Mayor Climaco said the newly-constructed stage will provide the students and the entire school community a venue for outdoor activities and events. She urged the school to take good care of the facility as it was allocated as part of the city’s advocacy to provide quality education and consequently to ensure a better future for the children.

Meanwhile, in light of the celebration of family day at the ZCHS-Main, the chief executive called on parents and teachers to always take time to listen and to never pass judgment on children as this will leave a stigma and will disparage their self-confidence. “Let us always treat children with respect and as parents and teachers let us be good models to the children. Listen to their concerns and we must be able to guide them so they can discover their strength as children.” — Sheila Covarrubias
