In a gesture of statesmanship as well as sportsmanship, servant leader Monsi Cris dela Cruz greets District 1 Congressman Celso Lobregat on his brithday today which coincides with the celebration of the Feast of St. Joseph.

“Today, we celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph ST .. It is also the birthday of Honorable Celso L. Lobregat. I wish him the best of health and the respect due him with the assurance of my prayers,” said Monsi in a statement.

Monsi had declared his candidacy for the District 1 congressional seat challenging the incumbent Lobregat, to whom he lost by slim margin in the 2013 elections.

“In civilized society, respect should transcend political differences. God bless our City and dear people,” Monsi said.

The former priest turned developer and builder is running with  a platform on infrastructure development, jobs creation and education.

Monsi is credited for the development of the Centro Pastoral, the construction of the modern Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the refurbishing and improvement of the historic Lantaka Hotel. He is behind the Nuevo Zamboanga College, which in less than five years in existence, has produced successful graduates and board topnotchers in Hotel and Restaurant course and Criminology.
