The Highway Patrol Group-9 is implementing  “Oplan Summer Vacation 2016”  as part of the observance of Lenten season.

Sr. Supt. Joel R. Dimaano, HPG-9 chief, said that HPG-9 operatives , mobile cars and motorcycle teams will be fielded to assist local Philippine National Police units for traffic direction and control along major thoroughfares leading to and from procession sites in areas of jurisdiction.

HPG-9 teams in the region have also been directed to put up appropriate tents in  strategic areas along national roads in coordination with participating government agencies and non-government organizations to serve as Public Assistance Centers.

HGP-9 Operation Officer Sr. Inspector Mervin Claret disclosed that each team in the region is required to check and monitor motorvehicles passing by their AOR particularly road worthiness of public utility vans and other public transports, battery –lights- oil- water –battery- air –gas-engine –tires self ( BLOWBAGETS ) to ensure safe long distance travels.

“We are on full alert,” Claret said.

HPG-9 Monitoring Officer SPO1 Arvin Lozano said that “Oplan Summer Vacation 2016” operations include the closing of classes, celebration of various occasions such as Lenten Season, assist traffic on graduations, town fiestas, Flores de Mayo, homecomings and other activities that started on the last week of March up to May. — Allen Abastillas
