Cheerful faces greet red team on Easter Sunday sorties PDF Print E-mail

Hundreds of people from all walks of life greeted the candidates of “Team Colorao” with happy faces and cheerful salutations during their Easter Sunday sorties in the west coast.

From early sunrise at the Zamboanga Golf Course and Beach Park in Upper Calarian, towards Caragasan Beach in Barangay Maasin and down to La Vista del Mar still in Upper Calarian, the Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino (LDP), Nacionalista Party (NP), and Adelante Zamboanga (AZAP) coalition displayed a show of force through solidarity moving together as they shook the hands of the people including women, young and old alike to express their sincerity in pursuing their sound leadership and continuity of good governance thru a united front.

Lobregat was joined by his District 1 line-up composed of vice-mayoralty aspirant Luis “Noning” Biel, re-electionist councilors Myra Paz Abubakar and Charlie Mariano, Baliwasan barangay chairman Boday Cabato, former councilor Rudy Lim, retired Red Cross Administrator Vic Liozo, San Roque barangay chairman Lit-Lit Macrohon, CPA businessman Kaiser Olaso and Muslim leader and former Campo Islam barangay chairman Hadj Sandag.

Former Upper Calarian Barangay Chairwoman and currently Kagawad Flor Arcillas said that she was impressed how the “Team Colorao” group has shown professionalism and a high-level of campaign in previous elections and she saw the same at present when the campaign started.

“I have a lot of things to thank Congressman Celso Lobregat, he and his team have not declined any favor asked by me and my constituents before when I was still the barangay chairwoman of Upper Calarian, Celso never failed my people,” Arcillas said.

Lobregat in return thanked Arcillas for such acknowledgment and assured the people of Upper Calarian of his continued support and in pursuing progress in their locality.

In Caragasan beach, Georgina Salvador, 56, of Sinunuc was very excited as she embraced Congressman Lobregat, recalling how the fighting solon helped her daughter in surgery which gave the latter a second life.

“Grande gayot pabor ya hace comigo y con dimio familia si Congressman Lobregat. Si nuay ele, muerto ya mi anak. Cuando ya anda kame na su ofisina pidi ayuda na operacion, nuay gat ele abla hinde. Segundo vida ya chene el mi anak porcausa con Celso,(We are very grateful to Congressman Lobregat, if not because of him, my daughter would have been dead years ago. When we went to his office to ask for help, he didn’t say no), “Salvador said.

A senior citizen named Leonila Serafio,78, of San Roque revealed that the former mayor has made her life comfortable, by way of the services he has given them as members of a senior citizens organization in their village.

“Cuando mayor si Celso, activo el su programa para canamon mga vieja na San Roque para queda kame aliviao na obtenida del mga necesario y libre servicio medical, ya continua ese ele hasta ya queda le congresista, poreso nungca yo y mi familia olvida conele,” Serafio said.

Lobregat said he was elated by the warm reception of the people accorded him and his team yesterday.

The veteran solon said his team will maintain a high level of campaign and will not discredit other candidates, especially in discussing real issues of the city. — Dexter Yap
