After the observance of the Lenten season, the Zamboanga City Police Office remains in full alert.

City Police Office Officer in Charge Supt. Luisito Magnaye said that the celebration of the holy Week was generally peaceful in this city with sufficient security measures in place, particularly in all sites of the religious activities.

Magnaye said the securiy measures were looked after by the police in coordination with the military’s Task Force Zamboanga.

“We are thankful for the cooperation of the people during the Holy week celebration,” Magnaye said.

He said even though the city is generally peaceful. Zamboanga City Police will not lower its guard.

“The command is always on full alert. Hanggang hindi pa nauubos ang Abu Sayyaf hindi matitigil ang threat dito sa Zamboanga City,” Magnaye stressed.

He said there is no IS recruitment in the city.

The shooting of the two Saudi nationals, according to Magnaye, is an isolated case.

“We are still continuing our investigation regarding the shooting of the two Saudis,”Magnaye said.

Magnaye presided a “ One Time Big Time Operations” conference  yesterday afternoon for the listing of lawless elements and criminals in the city. The conference was attended by the different law enforcement agencies of the government and national support groups  of the Philippine National Police. — Allen Abastillas
