Hundreds of residents from the different areas of Barangay Baliwasan trooped to Baliwasan Grande Tuesday night where the “Team Colorao” conducted their first political rally in District 1.

No less than former councilor Jimmy “El Cañonaso” Cabato and his son Barangay Chairman Jaime “Boday” Cabato,Jr led their constituents in painting the entire village red that day where the team was welcomed by residents in the area.

The group conducted house-to-house campaign in the entire barangay which was culminated by a rally that was well attended by the entire slate of the LDP-NP-AZAP coalition led by the two incumbent House Representatives Celso Lobregat and Lilia Nuño.

Entertained by a local band, cheerful Baliwasan residents danced and stayed awake till midnight to listen to the group’s speeches.

Baliwasan Chairman Boday Cabato opened the program and was loudly applauded by the residents.

Lobregat and Nuno  explained to the people why some of their former coleagues were not with them, but running as their political adversaries.

“I wanted to make it clear to all the residents of Baliwasan, this red team in front of you now is the same team whom you have supported all the way, since the time of Ma’am Caling, we are still the same team who battles All for One and One for All,” Lobregat said.

The solon revealed to the constituents each and every details how their former coleagues split and formed another group against them because of personal interests.

“This group is still here, we are still all-together pursuing our contract of Unity and Continuity Towards a More Developed, Peaceful and Progressive Zamboanga City, if the others made a turn around, well it’s their decision to leave us, we didn’t abandoned them,” Lobregat said.

Nuño made an impressive talk when she introduced the personalities from her district (2) including the “Alden Richards” and “Maine Mendoza” of the red team in both districts.

“Let me tell people of Baliwasan, we are here to show our solid group, we are united and not divided, we are together in pushing more progress and development to our city, we have proven it, and we will continue that legacy,” Nuño said. – Dexter Yap
