Curfew hours for minors in barangay Putik will begin today with an objective to intensify the monitoring and strict supervision of the youths and prevent them from roaming around late night.

Putik Barangay Chairman Jerry Perez said the imposition of curfew hours was agreed unanimously by the parents and constituents of  barangay a barangay assembly on March 17, 2016.

Such consent from the public then urged the barangay officials to pass a resolution for immediate imposition of curfew.

The barangay officials and constituents present during the assembly agreed on the imposition of curfew hours for minors age 18 and below, from 9pm to 5am the next day effective April 1, 2016.

Perez said the imposition of curfew is aimed to prevent minors from engaging in any form of petty crimes, drug taking, gambling and to protect their future.

Sanctions for any minor caught violating the curfew hours will be duty bound to attend counseling in the barangay hall together with their parents or guardians.

“The imposition of curfew in Putik doesn’t limit to our constituents, the same provisions of the barangay resolution will take effect even on minors from other villages who stay late at night in our village without any justifiable reasons. we will hold them as well,” Perez said.
