Man, 61, dies in motorcycle accident PDF Print E-mail

A 61-year-old man died after he was accidentally sideswiped by a 10-wheeler truck along Gov. Ramos Avenue last Wednesday afternoon.

The fatality was identified as Rolando Abanto, married, of Sitio Lumiyap, Divisoria. He sustained head fracture and died on the spot.

A police report disclosed that Abanto was driving a Honda  XRM 125 cc motorcycle with a plate number JU 7503 heading west he was accidentally side swiped by a ten-wheeler truck driven by Teofilo Blasi near Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial School. A  banto was thrown away due to the impact and died on the spot.

Blasi surrendered to the Sta. Maria Police Station and was detained while both vehicles involved in the accident were impounded.

It was learned that Abanto was heading for Wesmincom to fetch his daughter who is working in the camp when the accident took place.

Police said that a case of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide will be filed in court against Blasi if the relatives of the victim will not agree on a possible amicable settlement. – Dan Toribio
