Councilor Jessica Eisma- Flores on Wednsday said there is a need to uplift the delivery of  social services on health, medical assistance and hospitalization to people in the province, especially to women and children in far-flung villages.

Flores said the delivery of social services on health to the people in Lamitan City is excellent under the leadership of Mayor Rose U. Furigay.

The city is constructing an infirmary hospital aimed to  cater to all the needs of the  people on health services.

On the other hand, Flores  said she is promoting tourism in Lamitan City including the Kalugusan White Beach, Bulingan Waterfalls, Yakan traditional weaving and cultural  heritage of the city.

“We are studying a “One Stop Shop” on tourism activities in the city and we can do it for the whole province. We have so many good places in the province for tourism destinations. Our partners here are the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” Flores said.

Flores is the president of the Tourism Council of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and president of the Tourism Council of Basilan, vice president of the Girl Scout of the Philippines in Basilan, Board Member of Soroptimist, Board Member of Nagdillab Foundation and Head delegate of the Philippine Nurces Association of Basilan and Rotary incoming President of Basilan. She is now an aspirant for a seat in Regional ARMM Assembly representing District 2 of Basilan. — Allen Abastillas
