PRO-9 nets 400 guns in Comelec gun ban PDF Print E-mail

The Police  Regional Office-9 have seized a total of 400 assorted high powered firearms since it implemented the Comelec gunban in January 10, 2016 relative to the general elections on May 9, 2016.

PRO-9 Deputy Regional Director for Operations Sr. Supt. Debold M. Sinas disclosed that the seizure of the 400 assorted guns id an accomplishment from the different provincial commands in the region.

Zamboanga City Police Office  under Supt. Luisito Magnaye seized  a total of 238 guns and filed appropriate charges against the violators.

Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office under Sr. Supt. Michael Nicolas seized 96 guns. Zamboanga del Norte PPO  under Sr. Supt. Edwin Buenaventua C. Wagan seized 53 assorted guns and Zamboanga Sibugay PPO under Sr. Supt. Romulo Cleve Taboso seized 13.

On the implementation of search warrants against lawless elements and implementation of “One Time Big Time” operations together with soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Sinas  said that out of a total of 382 search warrants secured  from the Regional Trial Court, 353 were implemented. Zamboanga City Police Office served 76 search warrants against persons. Zamboanga del Norte PPO served 74, Zamboanga del Sur PPO — 82 and Zamboanga Sibugay — 103. Allen Abastillas
