A couple wanted by the law in Isabela City eluded arrest during a police operationaong Gov. Camins Avenue Monday night.

Police intelligence operatives led by Insp. Sonny Boy Perez rushed to Gov. Camins Avenue particularly in front of KCC Mall where the couple was spotted.

They were about to serve the warrant of arrest for qualified theft issued by Judge Leo Jay Principe of the RTC branch 1, Basilan, but the couple abandoned their Toyota Hi-Ace with plate number AAC 5849 with the ignition key.

Policemen took the vehicle to the Central Police Station for safekeeping.

During a search inside the vehicle, policemen recovered a small box of Mentos candy containing six rounds of ammunition of .45 caliber pistol, one improvised tooter, one improvised alcohol lamp, one strip of aluminum foil, two sunglasses, Smart Bro pocket wifi, car amplifier, two sound boxes, cutter blade, extra tire, set of tools, MP3, car modulator, tweeter, water container, small 9mm pistol replica lighter, multipurpose tools and the ignition key. – Dan Toribio
