Beng lauds ‘Savores’ organizers PDF Print E-mail

Mayor Beng Climaco on Saturday lauded participants and organizers of “Savores” (Flavors), a rare culinary event featuring local cuisines, as she reiterated her all out support to programs of the local and national tourism.

Climaco spearheaded the well-attended event held Saturday night at Centro Latino in Paseo del Mar. Such activity which brings together the city’s best chefs, is one event that highlights the unique tourism assets of Zamboanga City, she said.

She thanked the Department of Tourism-9 under Director Maryjune Bugante and City Tourism Office under Sarita Hernandez for organizing the successful event and commended the different exhibitors that participated in the Savores.

Zamboanga City residents and visitors from other parts of the country and the world attended Savores and had only good words for the event. They savored Zamboanga’s prime cuisines cuisines that included Spanish-influenced/Zamboangueño, Chinese and traditional Muslim cuisines.

Distinct musical and dance entertainment at an affordable fee of food on sale spiced up the event.

Food exhibitors included Alavar’s Seafood House, Bay Tal Mal, Big Dawgs Bistro, Chinito’s Asian Kitchen, Chowtime, Kape Zambo and South Avenue Diner and Grill that popularized iconic dishes in Zamboanga such as curacha, knicker-bocker, satti and more.
