A man died on his motorcycle after he was shot several times by a gunman with an armalite rifle at the interior of Sapang Palay, Baliwasan at dawn yesterday.

In another incident, a construction worker was stabbed to death by the former husband of his live-in-partner in Talon-Talon yesterday morning.

Around 1 a.m. residents of Sapang Palay heard automatic gunfire, but no one went out of their house to check because they were afraid of stray bullets.

Shortly before 6 a.m., people residing in the area discovered a man sitting on a black Honda  XRM motorcycle but was apparently dead withseveral gunshot wounds at the back of the body.

The victim was not a resident of the said place as no one could identify him.

Some residents said that the victim was frequently seen in the neighborhood  visiting one of the houses. He used to be in the said place at midnight up to dawn.

The victim was wearing green shorts, red T-shirt with brown hooded jacket and a J-type motorcycle helmet.

Police also recovered from his possession some personal belongings including some remittance receipts with name of a certain Al-Huod Puntukan.

Police said the XRM motorcycle with plate number JA 53813 belongs to a certain Azeer Dahamban.

Police also recovered two spent shells of 5.56 caliber at the crime scene.

Meanwhile, Jonard Jalubo, 31, a construction worker and resident of Talon-Talon was stabbed to death by the former husband of his live-in-partner yesterday morning.

The suspect was identified as Carlito Alpichi, who escaped after incident.

Police said that jealousy appeared to be the motive of the killing. – Dan Toribio
