LTO-9 bares vehicle plates to arrive soon PDF Print E-mail

Land Transportation Office-9 Director Aminola P. Abaton said the other day that the LTO central office will soon send motorvehicle plates needed by each region in the country.

According to Abaton, The Bureau of Customs in Manila has released recently  the container van loaded with the new plates for vehicles.

He explained that the LTO central office is now studying  all the technical problems on how to process the distribution and also the issue on the payment made by the motorvehicle owners who already turned over P450 for the plate and the offsetting of payment  of plates who were able to pay last year.

“ We only follow orders and directives from the central office on how to release  the new plates once it will reach in each region. Central office also issued orders that motorvehicles can use their unit to travel, provided that they carry the official receipt and registration of their unit. Because we always implement the ‘ No Travel, No Registration’ policy, Abaton said.

He bared that the motorvehicle stickers for the current year are now available in all district offices in the region.

Meanwhile, Law Enforcement Division Chief Allan Macabangkit reported to Abaton that his revenue collection for the first quarter has increased by 13 per cent.

Macabangkit’s Division earned more than P3 million for the first quarter for the entire region. For Zamboanga City it earned P 1,872,850 in fines paid by violators. Most of the violations committed are “No helmet while driving”, exccessive noise of their motorvehicle mufflers, no accessories, big lights,  stop lights, wearing slippers while driving, expired licenses and registrations, using student permits without the company of sub- professional drivers and other violations. — Allen Abastillas
