Zambo gets TSeKaP package from DOH PDF Print E-mail

Health Secretary Janette Loreto-Garin on Saturday, April 24, turned over to the City Government through the City Health Office (CHO) 18 Tamang Serbisyo para sa Kalusugan ng Pamilya (TSeKaP) packages for the 16 health districts and 2 barangays in the city.

City health Officer Dr. Rodel Agbulos together with CHO doctors and staff including barangay health workers received the packages which are composed of 2- non-contact thermometers, 1 stethoscope, 1 glucometer set (for measurement of blood sugar), 1 dressing set (for sterile wound care), 1 digital BP apparatus and 2 nebulizers (for asthma relief) each.

The equipment packages will be allocated to the 16 health districts and barangays Putik and Tugbungan where main health centers are located.

is a nationwide program jointly implemented by the DOH and Philhealth as part of its extended primary package and its distribution aims to equip local government units with the essential medical equipment that is designed to address common health problems seen in the primary health care leading to overall objective to improve better health outcomes and increase financial risk protection.

The distribution rites held Saturday at a local hotel in Mayor Jaldon Street was also attended by Councilor VP Elago, Council committee chair on health, DOH-9 officials and provincial and city health officials from all over Zamboanga Peninsula.

Secretary Garin cited the role of the barangay health workers as the frontline healthcare force who keep a data board and spot map for health conditions. She assured that the packages distributed were of quality made and designed to provide better service to the Philhealth beneficiaries. — Sheila Covarrubias
