Lamitan City Mayor Rose U. Furigay will lead officials on Friday  in an outreach program dubbed as “ROSE ( Reaching Out Serving Everyone ) Health Caravan”.

The venue will the Ubit Elementary School.

Joey Leonardo, Mayor Furigay’s Executive II Assistant, said the beneficiaries of the health caravan are the constituents of six barangays in the area such as Barangay Ubit, Buahan, Maloong, San Jose Balagtasan, Sta. Clara and Boheyawas.

The caravan activities are free medical health services, dental health services, hypertension & diabetic screening, supplementary feeding, usapang buntis, vegetables seeds distribution, haricut services and ciicumcision.

According to Leonardo, there are already 20,000 folks of the city who have benefited from the free health caravan of Mayor Furigay since 2013.

Some medical personnel of the  army’s 104th Brigade under Col. Jovielito Bautista will conduct the free operation tuli and free haircut. The personnel of ARMM Dept. Of Agriculture and Fisheries  with City Agriculture Office will also conduct free animal health care activities. All beneficiaries will be “libre sundo and hatid” by the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police. The program will start around 8 a.m. Partners of the caravan are JHPIEGO, an affiliate of John Hopkins University, Special Forces, Lamitan City Police under Sr. Inspector Gean Gallardo, Office of the Provincial Veterinarian Basilan, Scout Ranger, Special Action Force , City Health,  Dept. of Social Welfare and Development of the province and CitySWD and Barangay officials and  health workers of the six barangays. — Allen Abastillas
