Ex-militia wounded in shootout with cops PDF Print E-mail

A former militiaman was seriously wounded after he shot it out with policemen in La Paz last Wednesday night.

Ryan Faustino, married, of La Paz, sustained two bullets wound in the leg and cheek.

Sr. Insp. Karib Muharram, Ayala Police Station chief, disclosed that before the shootout, Andy Sanson, a former barangay Kagawad of La Paz, appeared at the police station and reported that Faustino who was armed with a .45 caliber pistol allegedly shot Adolfo Domingo but missed.

Muharram said they responded immediately and rushed to the house of Faustino. While the lawmen were approaching the place, Faustino opened fire using his .45 caliber pistol then ran inside their house.

Policemen returned fire triggering a brief shootout hitting Faustino in the body.

Muharram said that after Faustino was neutralized, they recovered from his possession his .45 caliber pistol with four bullets, one large and 10 small sachets of suspected shabu.

Police also recovered from the crime scene two spent shells of .45 caliber pistol and two empty shells of 5.56 caliber.

Faustino was taken to the hospital for treatment. – Dan Toribio
