Lamitan City Police Station Chief Sr. Insp. Gean O. Gallardo on Thursday disclosed that they are investigating and trying to extract information from a woman who was arrested by his men for carrying an improvised explosive device (IED) last week.

Gallardo said that on April 24 he received an intelligence  information that a woman was planning to plant an IED at the vicinity of the police station. Thereafter, Gallardo directed his men to set up an entrapment move for her arrest.

The Lamitan police arrested Joan Mangubat Insuh 27. She is now detained at the station.  Seized from her possession were three blasting caps, IED tools, plastic container, cellphone with wires connected  to a mother board. All pieces of the evidence will be turned over to the Provincial Crime laboratory Office.

According to Gallardo, he has already identified the group of Insuh and scompanion who are making IEDs

“Ini-investigahan po naming kong yong series ng bombing dito po sa Lamitan City ay sila ang gumagawa at sino ang nauutos sa kanila,” Gallardo said.

He added that he has already identified the bomb maker and their area where they are living.

Lamitan was rocked with bomb explosions in the pas months.— Allen Abastillas
