Police Regional Office-9 is optimistic that the the elections on Monday will be peaceful.

PRO-9 Deputy Director for Operations Sr. Supt. Debold M. Sinas  has conducted a series of inspections starting Day 1 of the campaign period in the different area commands  of police stations and a series of meetings and conferences with the Philippine National Police counterpart the Armed Forces of the Philippines under the Commission on Elections 9  Regional Joint Security Coordinating Center ( RJSCC ).

Sinas disclosed that based on his assessment  and observation during the first day of the election period, it was generally peaceful, except for some isolated  incidents that can not be controlled by  the command.

“We are doing our best to ensure the forthcoming presidential and national and local elections will be safe and fair”, Sinas said.

According to Sinas,  PRO9 troopers are in place and always ready to secure the electorate so that they can cast their votes and exercise their right of suffrage.

“We have also the troopers of the PNP Special Action Force with gunboats ready to react in any calls of action in the whole region 24/7 on the day of the election,” Sinas added.

Sinas was in Tungawan Wednesday where he presided a conference with stakeholders of the municipality for a safe and fair election 2016.

“Different political candidates, parties and all stakeholders in the different provinces in the region  also conducted a series of peace covenant signing since the first day of campaign period.  Most of all we express our gratitude to the good people in the region for helping the police in its endeavor,” Sinas said. -Allen Abastillas
