Mayor Beng Climaco yesterday called on the Zamboangueños to support and cooperate with the police and military authorities in their utmost efforts at keeping the city’s peace and order to ensure an orderly, peaceful and clean conduct of elections on Monday, May 9.

This, as the Philippine National Police (PNP) has appealed to the public to remain vigilant at all times in a bid to prevent unscrupulous individuals and lawless elements from taking advantage of the authorities for their sinister motives.

Mayor Climaco said the PNP has also assured the public that it is doing its best efforts in order to uphold the security and integrity of the synchronized national and local elections on May 9, and effectively counter possible election mischief as well as to sustain peace and order throughout the country.

She further said the PNP recognizes the public’s vital role in attaining secure and fair elections as well as in keeping peace and order and therefore encourages everyone to report any election-related incident to the nearest police station or through social media [Twitter-@PNPhotline/ @pnppio or Facebook page- PNP/PNPhotline] or through the following: Dial 117 or text 2920; and I-Report Mo Kay TSIP 09178475757.

As this developed, the campaign period for all local and national candidates officially ends at midnight today, May 7,  making way for all political parties to conduct their respective motorcades and miting de avance.
