Davao City Rodrigo Duterte is heading for victory to become the first Philippine president from the south based on unofficial counts of three major national media outfits and the Commission on Elections -affiliated Pastoral Council for Responsibe Voting as of 8 p.m.

Unofficial counts from giant networks ABS CBN  and GMA as well as Philippine Daily Inquirer as of 6 pm showed Duterte leading over closest rival Mar Roxas and Grace Poe by 30 per cent

Manila Broadcasting Corporation’s DZRH radio exit poll showed Duterte gathering 40 percent , Grace Poe 20 percent and Roxas 19 percent.

The Pastoral Council for Responsibe Voting’s unofficial count likewise showed Duterte leading by some 20 percent.
