Zambo tops 4-H Reg’l Youth Camp PDF Print E-mail

The Zamboanga delegation to the 5th Regional 4-H Youth Camp held in Irosan, Roxas, Zamboanga del Norte from May 4-5 bagged the overall championship title after it topped in most of the competitions.

The 25-member delegation from Zamboanga was first place in at least 4 compettitions: A La Chef Contest- Princess Bautista of Recodo; Sweet Potato Processing and Pasalubong Package Contest – Reymart Marcos of Culianan; Innovation on Climate Change – Liza Earl Beverly Angeles of Mampang and Photography and Feature Writing contest – Hubert Benito.

The winners received plaques and cash prizes and will be the region’s representatives in the National 4-H Youth Camp set end of May in Baguio City.

Zamboanga City also garnered second place in 3 other competitions- the Indigenous Plaque-Making, Extemporaneous Speaking Contest and Quiz Bee and third place in still other contest categories.

The Zamboanga delegation was headed by Lorna Bautista, City 4-H Coordinator of the City Agriculturist Office.

The Regional 4-H Youth Camp was participated by 4-H Club officers and members, focal persons and Farm Youth Development Program Coordinators from the different cities and provinces in Zamboanga Peninsula.

The 4-H Club is a nationwide association of sons and daughters of farmers and fisher folk. — Sheila Covarrubias
