An automotive shop driver was shot and wounded by a car mechanic-welder in Natividad Street, Tetuan last Friday night.
The gunman was arrested by responding policemen while he was about to escape.

The victim was identified as Joselito Baybado, 33, single, a native of Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay.
City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo identified the suspect as Joseph Carpio, 31, married.

De Ocampo disclosed that Baybado was sleeping inside the Saavedra’s Automotive Shop around 10 p.m. when Carpio arrived and shot him hitting in the right hip.
The victim was rushed to the Western Mindanao Medical Center while the incident was reported to the Tetuan Police Station.

De Ocampo said that Carpio was collared by policemen while he was about to escape aboard a tricycle.
Recovered from Carpio’s possession was  a snub-nose type .38 cal. revolver with three bullets and one spent shell inside the cylinder.

The suspect was brought to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for paraffin and ballistic tests on the recovered gun.
De Ocampo said the incident has something to do with their work in the automotive shop.— Dan Toribio Jr.
